Skillpoint Alliance's adult training programs seek to meet the needs of Austin's job seekers. Community Technology Training Centers (CTTC) and Construction Gateway provide participants with the skills and requirements demanded by Central Texas' employers.

Employment Services

CTTC's Workforce Development Coordinator offers CTTC participants personalized employment services, including:

Job search help
Interviewing Skills

CTTC consistently helps 20 percent of its clients find new employment, a promotion or raise or to return to school.

The Construction Gateway program gives participants the opportunity to create a new resume and coordinates an on-campus job fair with potential employers and industry leaders. Participants also receive assistance finding new jobs after graduation. To date, the Gateway program has graduated more than 1,200 graduates, of whom more than 50% found work in the construction industry. Another 25% found employment in another area.

Ronald Smith evacuated from Hurricane Katrina and arrived in Austin with only $40. He came to Skillpoint Alliance where we helped him obtain skills in construction through our adult workforce program, Construction Gateway. He then found employment with Zachry Construction in Austin. “Hope was a main element and this program, Construction Gateway, enhanced it and gave me the opportunity to expand my skills,” Smith said. “The people of Austin have been very generous to me.
